The Holst Singers continue their 2013-2014 season with a trio of concerts in quick succession!
The first concert is a meditation on the supernatural in conjunction with The Hilliard Ensemble and the City of London Sinfonia on 27 March 2014 at Southwark Cathedral. The choirs and orchestra, separately and together, perform works by Arvo Part, Sir John Tavener and Gavin Bryars.
The second concert is a celebration of the life of Sir John Tavener, who passed away last year at the age of 69. The Holst Singers perform an unaccompanied recital of some of his most treasured choral works, at Christ Church Spitalfields on 10 April 2014. The Holst Singers had a long-standing artistic collaboration with Sir John and this performance will see the choir at its most elegiac, yet simultaneously celebrating his iconic life.
The third concert sees the choir returning to repertoire from Russia and Eastern Europe, which it has explored extensively in previous critically acclaimed recordings. The choir performs this concert at Temple Church on 14 May 2014.
Details of all these engagements can be found by checking out the concerts section of our website here, including details of how to purchase tickets. All three concerts, while all strikingly different, will share the same dedication and remarkable musicianship that is the Holst Singers’ hallmark. We look forward to seeing you there!
